Review of Barilla Gluten Free Fusilli 340g
A premium Italian pasta that delivers smooth texture and great taste, backed by Coeliac Australia endorsement, though it comes at a higher price and isn’t locally made.
Quick summary
Barilla Gluten Free Fusilli is a premium Italian pasta made from a blend of white and yellow corn with a touch of rice flour.
It’s one of the pricier options at $1.38 per 100g — nearly triple the cost of supermarket brands. Nutritionally, it’s low in fat and sugar, with just 0.3g of saturated fat and 0.5g of sugar per 100g.
This pasta also contains a modest 6.5g of protein and is almost sodium-free, making it a lighter choice that still provides plenty of energy at 1520kJ per 100g.

What we thought
A solid option, though definitely on the pricier side.
Barilla Gluten Free Fusilli is one of only three brands endorsed by Coeliac Australia, giving it strong credibility for those who need a trustworthy gluten-free choice. However, during our testing it scored lower for Australian sourcing and ownership, as it’s made entirely overseas.
During our roundup review, we also noticed a few black flecks in the pasta — not a dealbreaker, but something that stood out.
