What we thought
Pasta Roma Gluten Free Spirals came out as the winner in our roundup review of gluten free spiral pasta. While it wasn’t the best-tasting pasta in the lineup, it excelled in the sourcing criteria, earning points for being Australian made and owned. It was also the only product in the test to gain points for using some locally sourced ingredients.

Unlike the other brands, which rely more heavily on corn flour, Pasta Roma uses a higher proportion of rice flour. This likely contributed to its slightly different flavour and very pale colour.
The key takeout is, if you’re purely chasing flavour, this isn’t the top pick. There are better options out there, like San Remo Gluten Free Spirals 350g. However, if you want to support local while still getting a good spiral pasta, Pasta Roma is your best option.
